Bryan Payne has spent his entire legal career representing people who have been harmed by corporations or other people. He zealously fights for those who have suffered catastrophic injuries because of the carelessness of others, and for those who have lost loved ones because of another’s negligence, fraudulent conduct, and/or greed. Believing that “a right delayed is a right denied,” Mr. Payne works tirelessly and aggressively to obtain just outcomes for his clients. He has boldly represented consumers against some of America’s largest and wealthiest corporations. For instance, in cases against cigarette manufacturers, Mr. Payne represented families of deceased smokers who began smoking as teenagers in the 1940s and 1950s, which was years before cigarette manufacturers placed cautions and warnings on their products. As a result, he obtained millions of dollars in jury verdicts for his clients. Mr. Payne brings a balanced and assertive approach to his law practice, as well as empathy to his clients’ circumstances.
Before joining BD&J, Mr. Payne worked for one of California’s largest personal injury law firms, a firm that recovered nearly $1 billion dollars in jury verdicts and settlements for its clients, and whose work on behalf of those clients was the subject of the feature film Erin Brockovich.
Mr. Payne is a member of multiple local, state, and national bar associations. He is a member of Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), John M. Langston Bar Association, Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL), Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), and American Bar Association (ABA).
Mr. Payne is admitted to the California Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He received his law degree from New York University School of Law (NYU), obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley (Berkeley), and holds a Master of Planning degree from the University of Southern California (USC).
Mr. Payne lives in Los Angeles with his wife and four children.
