Commercial trucks can weigh up to 80,000 pounds. That is why truck accidents are often devastating, especially when they involve passenger vehicles. In Carson, two people were killed and two others were injured in a truck crash. Understanding the Situation
On the 405 freeway, a passenger car, driven by 21-year-old Alonzo Fausto of Long Beach, collided with a commercial big rig. The car lost control and overturned on the southbound side of the freeway. Fausto and the truck driver had both been traveling down the southbound lanes of the 405 in the middle of the night, when Fausto turned right and crashed into the left side of the truck. After hitting a metal guardrail, Fausto’s 1995 Toyota Camry flipped completely over and landed upright. Fausto and a 16-year-old female passenger were killed, and two other passengers in the same car were injured. There have been no reports on the truck driver's condition.
